Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of
the Council on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of
personal data and the free movement of such data has the force of law in the
Republic of Croatia and is applicable from 25 May 2018. years. Familiar with
the GDPR - General Data Protection Regulation, and has brought a number of
changes to the business of private companies as well as public institutions.
After more than a hundred days of application of the Regulation, according to
some current surveys, more than half of business entities did not align with
GDPR. In the meantime, the Agency for the Protection of Personal Data (AZOP)
has issued numerous official opinions and recommendations for interpretation of
the provisions of GDPR, but alignment with the same or implementation thereof
in practice still requires specific knowledge. For those who started
implementing, time has come to assess the new state of affairs and identify
those requirements that are currently the biggest challenge in the process of
harmonization.
The seminar covered a number of interesting and current
topics such as:
• how to keep records of processing activities,
• when personal data can be publicly disclosed,
• When a Personal Data Protection Officer is needed,
• data protection of workers,
• how to monitor the electronic communication of workers,
• when it is possible to shoot and photograph in a public
place,
• how to properly issue membership cards and organize
loyalty programs,
• IT Implementation of GDPR - what is needed to synchronize
websites (privacy statements, cookie notifications).
The participants received answers to a number of questions
as the seminar was specifically intended for employers who did not start
implementation for practical start-up assistance as well as all other employers
who started or completed the implementation to ensure compliance with practical
examples and advice.
The lecture was given by Ozren Cuk, a specialist in the
field of privacy who holds the CIPP / E and CIPM certificates awarded by the
International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Due to the great interest of the members, HUP Reg. The
Osijek office, within its PUMA program, will also arrange consultations on the
subject in the following year.
